In these Arab Spring, there is a special day for the Arab peoples. The Arab peoples give a various names to this day. And since the beginning of Arab Spring until now, having a lot of names was given. That day was Friday.
For example,on this Friday (13/4/2013) in Egypt, there is demonstration after bloody tragedy between Muslim and Coptic. The demonstrators named this Friday with “The day of Egyptian blood is haram”.
So, why should Friday? There are several reasons why Arab peoples choose Friday.
First, Muslims gather on every Friday for Shalat Jumat. Before Shalat Jumat, imam or khatib give khutbah that providing advice, bringing Muslims to unite, and ordering for taqwa to Allah. This is the big reason why Arab peoples choose Friday to be day of demonstration for revolution.
Second, there are many rahmat from Allah in Friday. There are many tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (hadits) say that Friday is the special and the great day of Muslim. Example, there is a special time in Friday that efficacious time to pray. From this great day, the peoples hope there will be a change for the better conditions on Friday.
Third, Friday is holiday for Arab peoples. Most of them don’t work on Friday.
Usually, after Shalat Jumat, they gather at one of the strategic place for demonstration. They voice their demands to government, or writing it on banners or any media. But unfortunately, it’s not infrequent clashes between protesters and security.
Meanwhile, mass media is also going to be ready to cover what's going on Friday. Since morning, their reporter has being at place of demonstration. And medical officers also had been prepared for it.
That’s what happened on Friday after Arab Spring. From this special day, Arab peoples will make the new story of their life.[]
